Before starting an electrical installation, the user must ensure that the working environment is voltage-free. A voltage tester is required to be able to test alternating electric fields or to be able to find possible sources of error. It is possible with a first indication of whether voltage is present with the non-contact Wiha voltage tester thanks to optical and acoustic signal. The steady green LED shows that the tool is ready for use after it has been switched on. During the voltage check, the LEDs light up from blue (weak) through orange to red (strong) depending on the strength of the alternating electric field. Two AAA batteries are required, which are included in the supplied parts. If the device is not used for 4 minutes, it switches off automatically to save energy. An integrated LED flashlight makes it possible to illuminate measuring points in dark environments, and it can be turned on and off manually as a flashlight. The voltage tester fits in all shirt and trouser pockets thanks to its practical size and retaining clip. Thanks to the internationally adapted measuring tip, the voltage tester can be used on sockets all over the world. The single-pole voltage tester is designed according to the standard EN 61010-1 / IEC 61326 and dimensioned for CAT IV 1,000 VAC. In addition, the tool is approved according to the ATEX standard for use in potentially explosive areas (category II).
